Family Pictures!

We finally got around to getting some good family pictures taken with Chloee! With Travis leaving, it kind of gave us a little push to get them done! We just went out by the Great Salt Lake and had my sister, Heidi, take them for us! I think we got some great shots!!

This is probably my favorite picture! I love the contrasting colors of the blue sky, white snow-topped mountains, and tan weeds!! We are getting a 16x20 print of this shot, I can't wait for it to get here and get it framed and put up on the wall!!

There is a cool old train car that's covered in grafiti that we decided to get some pictures in front of.

I love these grafiti shots!! Kind of funky!

National Guard Update

So Travis got sworn into the National Guard on Friday, so now is is officially in the military! It is still crazy and hard to believe for me! Anyways, so we found out that he will leave for Basic Training on April 5, and he will go to Fort Knox, Kentucky for that. Then he will go to Virginia for the other training. I forget what it is called, Fort Something!! So he leaves in two weeks, yikes that is quick! I am not ready for him to be gone for so long, but I think that it will be a good growing experience for me. I depend so much on Travis for every little thing, which isn't really a bad thing, but I think that I will grow a lot only being able to depend on the Lord and my family! Well that's the latest news, so keep us in your prayers, and I'll keep everyone updated!

Mid-Life Crisis??

Can a mid-life crisis occur before the age of 30?? And would deciding to join the military at age 28 be considered a mid-life crisis??

Well that is exactly what Travis has decided to do. A couple of weeks ago Travis called me from work and said that he is thinking about joining the National Guard! Just out of the blue! Normally I would definitely say that it is a mid-life crisis, but we have both prayed about it, and feel that it is right, so in this case I think it is more just a new direction! He wants to apply for the flight program after he joins so that he can fly the military helicopters. While there are lots of things that really scare me about him joining, I just have to have faith that it is what is meant to happen, because I have unmistakenly recieved that answer.

So he is officially signing up on Friday, so we will find out when and where he goes for Basic Training then. Basic Training is about 10 weeks long, then he will have additional training for 8 weeks. So he will be gone for about 4 1/2 months. :( That will be rough, but we will make it through! Once his initial training is finished he will just have drill one weekend a month and training for 2 weeks once a year. If he gets into the flight program, then he will have flight training for something like 40 weeks, but we get to go with him for that! So there are big changes happening, but they are pretty exciting!

4. He is TONS of fun!!
5. He makes me smile!
6. He helps me be my best self.
7. He is very HANSOME!
8. He is so charitable.
9. He makes me feel pretty!
10. He is my BABY LOVE! (That's one of my nicknames for him, just in case you were wondering!)

Now I just want to go give him a big smooch!!(Too bad he is working tonight!!)

Projects!

My list of projects is really long right now. We are in the middle of working on Parker's room, and have got the walls painted and his bed moved back in and made. So now we still need to paint the trim and doors, put up the 'Cars' stickers, paint his dresser and shelves, replace the ugly carpet, make a bedskirt and stuffed animal net, and move all of his toys out of the living room and back into his room! In addition to Parker's room I need to get 15+ anklets made this week for a nail salon. Plus, I've been in a really crafty mood lately, and have a long list of crafts I want to do! Here's my list:

Paint our bedroom
Refinish kitchen table and chairs
Refinish old wooden chair for Chloee's room
Make a magnet board
Make a centerpiece for my table
Make some cute, decorative balls
Dress up some plain vases
Make some awesome candlesticks out of a piece of 4x4 wood
Mod podge old books for decoration
Paint an old mirror
Re-upholster a bench
Spray paint a few D.I. finds
And the list goes on!

So I am really having to juggle and multi-task, so that I don't completely abandon my mommy and wife duties!! So I'd better get off and get something done!
