The Things New Parents Do!

Being a new parent is like nothing else. It is so wonderful at times, yet also very stressful, and frustrating at other times. It is definately a blessing to be a parent though. I am learning new things everyday, and am very grateful to have so many friends with kids already, that help me out and give me lots of tips! About a week or so ago Parker started holding onto the clip that attaches his pacifier to his outfit, and would pull on it, which of course would pull the pacifier out of his mouth. As all new parents are, Travis and I were very entertained at watching him try to figure out why his pacifier kept disappearing out of his mouth. (It has been our entertainment for several evenings in the past week!!) We video-ed (I don't know how to spell that) him one night right before bed. I will have to figure out how to put videos on here so that I can add it.

Another thing about being a new mom is making sure that I am careful about what I eat since Parker is being breastfed. On Sunday we made a large batch of chili for dinner. Needless to say we had a lot of leftovers since there are only two of us who ate it. Well to make a long story short, I ate chili for at least one meal for three days in a row. I didn't really mind having chili so much, and didn't want it to go to waste, but I didn't even think about the affect it would have on poor little Parker. Yesterday he had a rough day, and had a tummy full of gas all day, which didn't feel too good (he told me with the "it hurts" cry--a lot!!) I definately won't be eating beans three days in a row for awhile! :) Oh the Joys of being a new parent!!

Helicopter Ride

Travis was able to take me on a helicopter ride today. It was so cool. We went out to the beach and back. I had flown with him one other time, but it was only about a 2 minute loop around the airport. This ride was about 30 minutes, so it was WAY better. It is still so crazy to me that my husband flies helicopters!! He is a great pilot. I felt very safe with him flying.

It is amazing to see everything from the sky. This earth is definately a beautiful place! We have so much to be grateful for, especially all of Heavenly Father's creations. Here are a couple shots I took on our ride.
Here are a few more pictures of Travis and I during our flight. Don't you just LOVE the beautiful headset on me:)
These were taken after we landed of course!! We had a good time together.

Digital Scrapbooking

I have discovered the wonderful world of digital scrapbooking. It is awesome!(for those of you who have never seen it) I finished two pages in about a couple of hours (I wasn't really very fast...there is so much to choose from) One of my favorite things about it is how much money I save. The program cost me $28 dollars, and that is it. I don't have to buy paper, stickers, glue, or anything like that. Not to mention I don't have to deal with the mess of cutting and pasting, and little scraps all over the floor. Everything is right on the computer. Also if I do something and then decide that I don't like it, I can delete it. It is so easy to change things until I get it just the way I want it.
Here is one page I did of Parker's first experience in a pool. Now all I have to do is send it to costco and print it out for about $1.50 and I'm done. Amazing!! I can already tell that I am going to become an addict!! But it will be a good hobby while I'm stuck at home without a car :)

Here are a couple other pages I did.
This is so fun. I could NEVER be this creative with paper and scissors and glue! If anyone is interested in this program, just let me know and I will give you the info. I am still learning, but I could probably show you how to use it(as much as I know anyways!)

Swimming Fun!

Parker got to experience swimming yesterday, and he loved it. I didn't know how he would like it, but he did really good--he even got splashed a few times, but it didn't bother him. He is getting pretty good at holding his head up, but sometimes it still flops around. While I was holding him face out in the pool, he got tired of holding his head up, and face planted it into the water!! It was pretty funny(I know...that's mean of me to think so) and he was ok, just a little startled. Hopefully he will learn how to swim while we are here in Florida. He loved it so much that we are going to go at least once a week.

Parker's 1st Bubble Bath

Last night Parker experienced his first bubble bath. We were given some Johnson's Bedtime Bath, but had never used it until last night. He loved the bubbles just as much as he loves his regular bath. He is getting really good at splashing, and always seems to get mommy, daddy, and the whole kitchen soaked! Daddy poured water down his face on accident last night which is why he doesn't look too pleased in the last photo!

Welcome to Our Blog

Welcome to our blog!! I am new to this blogging stuff, so I am still learning. I thought that this would be another great way to keep in touch with all of our family and friends across the US. I am so grateful for all the technology we have today that helps bridge the distance between us and all of our loved ones back in Utah. Well I hope you all enjoy our blog, and I hope that I am not too boring!
