Change and Uncertainty

On February 3, Travis found out that the company that he worked for was going bankrupt, and that he was now unemployed. This news was a huge shock, and threw our lives upside down in an instant. I like to have a feeling of control and stability in life, so I was very upset by this news, and by the uncertainty that it brought with it. Well it's been a couple of weeks now, and we are still unemployed, but I have gotten to the point where I am at peace with this obstacle and know that all will turn out good in the end and that Travis will get a job where our family is meant to be at this time in our lives. I am still sad about the prospect of having to move from Jacksonville, because we love it here, and have made so many wonderful friendships, but I know that if I just put my faith in the Lord and accept his will for us that we will be ok.

We hoped to be able to find a job that would allow us to stay in Jacksonville because we just bought a house a few months ago, and have made some lasting friendships in the ward. But all of the jobs that would allow us to stay have required more hours than Travis has, or just haven't worked out, so it looks like we will have to start another adventure somewhere else(we still don't know where though!!) The future is still very much up in the air at this point, but whatever comes will be an adventure.

I feel so sad for your situation. It sounds like a Checketts life. Which means you've kind of dealt with it before but doesn't make it any better. So sad. But I admire your optimism and now that I know what's going on, I'll keep you in my prayers (and tell my family so they can too - we all understand too well).

How about you guys go back to Utah? We'll be there in a few months anyway! Hopefully you'll hear something soon, I'm sure the not knowing is the hardest part.

We have you both in our prayers and know that wherever you end up, the people there will be blessed with your love and service. You are an incredible family and will miss you dearly if you have to leave. Good luck with this crazy job hunting process. It's no fun not knowing what's in store for your family, especially when you have a little one.

I am with Krystal--UTAH, UTAH! I just know that you guys will end up right where you belong. It will be neat for you to realize why you moved to the place you do. Each time we have moved (b/c of school and stuff) we have experiences that let us know we are right where the Lord needs/wants us. Good Luck!

Wow! I had no idea. I will miss you if you go...

I hate uncertainty too. At least you have a constant family to go with you on your new adventure!

I keep checking your blog to see how things are going. I've noticed that it hasn't been updated for a while. How are you doing? I hope you are doing okay. I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you! :)
