Sledding Fun!

Sometime during December we took the kiddos sledding. It was Chloee's first experience with it, of course, and she loved it! Parker loved it as well, and even walked back up the hill himself, which made it much more enjoyable for Travis and I!

Chloee all bundled up and ready to go.

Travis pulled Parker around our yard for a little bit before we went and found a hill to sled down!

Parker climbing back up the hill.

Travis and Chloee reached the bottom!

Parker went with his aunt Eliza quite a bit!

Chloee and I...... don't I look cute! Haha!

The snow apparently looked appetizing, so Chloee decided to try it out! Mmmmmm!!

Cute kids!

She Did It!!

Chloee took her first few steps the week of her birthday! In the month following, she has become a great little walker! She very rarely chooses to crawl anymore, and has the cutest little strut! One of her favorite games is to get chased, and to tease you by walking to you and then turning around at the last minute to run away!! She sure is a cutie pie, and we love her so much!! Parker is even learning to like her a little bit more!

Christmas 2010

Christmas this year was pretty good. For some reason I had a hard time getting into the Christmas season this year. I don't know what it was exactly, but I was pretty stressed and was also dreading the fact that Travis had to work both on Christmas Eve, and on Christmas day. Also last year it seemed like Christmas was extra magical because I was pregnant with Chloee, so I had that to look forward to as well. Anyways, that being said, we did have a nice Christmas. On Christmas Eve Travis met us after work at his grandma's house. We had a very yummy dinner and enjoyed spending time with his family. Then for Christmas morning my parents and siblings came over to watch the kids open their presents. It was good to have them with us, especially since Travis had to work. We spent the rest of the day at my parents house playing games and eating yummy food. Overall it was a good day, we just missed Travis!!

Here are some Christmas morning pics of the kiddos!

Chloee thought it was pretty fun to sit on the presents!!

Parker tearing into his gift from Santa! It was a t-ball set!!

Chloee got her first baby doll!!

The kids got a red wagon from Mimi and Papa!! How fun!

Resolutions

One of my goals for 2011 was to blog at least once a week, which means 52 posts total this year. Seeing as it is already the end of the third week of January and I have yet to post anything, I will be doing at least 3 posts this weekend! So without further ado, I give you my
2011 New Year's Resolutions:

1. Read the Scriptures daily--Our ward is having this as a challenge for the whole ward, so I am trying really hard, and have only missed one day so far!

2. Go to the temple monthly

3. Be a better visiting teacher, going every month

4. Put money into savings every month, hopefully at least $50 per month.

5. Exercize more often, working up to 3 time per week again

6. Cook dinner at least 5 times per week (This may seem like a no brainer for a mom/wife, but I rely on Travis too much sometimes!!) Also learn to cook new things, and be mindful of finding nutritious things to cook/eat.

7. Blog weekly.

8. Improve on being consistant with Family Home Evening, Family Scripture Study, and Family Prayer!

There you go! Those are my goals! I am already slacking on some of them, but hopefully by the end of this year I will be better at these things than I was in 2010!!

Happy 2011 to all!!!

A Birthday!!

Yesterday my baby girl turned 1!!! Wow, this year went fast! We didn't do anything big or extravagant because Travis had to work, so we just had cake and let her open up a couple of presents. We will definitely need to step it up a bit in the years to come so that she feels like she has a special day (being so close to Christmas and all!)

Chloee's signiature scowl!! Do you think she is going to have an attitude when she is older? She is actually usually pretty happy, but she definitely knows how to scowl!

Just one candle!
Mmmmm.....Yummy chocolate cake!!

I love this one!! Parker and Chloee shoveling it in!! Chloee's face is priceless!

I took this picture in front of my mom's Christmas tree, but it turned out to be a pretty good one-year-old picture!!

My kids looked aDoRabLe at church on Sunday (I am just a little biased!!) So I wanted to get some cute pictures of them together...BUT.....Parker wasn't cooperating, so this is the only one I got. Not the best I know!!

Happy Birthday my sweet SWEET Chloee!! I love you!!

Some Thoughts

I have a lot on my mind right now, and just need to write it down, so sorry if I don't make sense!! I like to have a plan, and be in control. I get anxious when I don't know what's going on, or don't have a plan. Unfortunately it is impossible to ALWAYS be in control of my situation, which trips me up a lot! I make plans in my mind for how my life is going to go and sometimes forget that the Lord has the final say!

For example, children...I "knew" when I wanted to get pregnant and how far apart I wanted my kids, etc. BUT, the Lord knows better than me and our kids have came at the perfect time in our lives. If they would have come when I wanted them to, I wouldn't have been ready or it wouldn't have been the best time. So you'd think that I would remember this, but yet again I have made a plan for my life about kids, and haven't put my trust in the Lord that he knows best.

When we found out that Travis was getting deployed, one of my thoughts was when to have our next child, and I came to the conclusion that we needed to get pregnant again before he left so that there wouldn't be a big gap between Chloee and our next child. Well over the past couple of months I have let this affect me, and have stressed and worried about getting pregnant again, which has kind of negatively affected a lot of aspects of my life.

Well anyways, I am NOT pregnant, and so I have decided to make some changes that will hopefully make me happier now and in the future as we keep trying to get pregnant. I realized today that maybe we aren't meant to get pregnant before Travis leaves, and maybe we are meant to have a big gap between our kids, and THAT'S OK!!! OR maybe I WILL get pregnant in the coming months and that will be OK too!!

I can't decide when I get pregnant, I can only do my part (which is the fun part I might add!!) and put my trust in the Lord that he knows best and that what is meant to be will happen. I am glad that I had this realization again today, it wasn't anything new, but it was nice to be reminded to have faith in the Lord. He loves us all so much, and knows what we need, and that is SO wonderful!

Harry Potter

A couple of nights ago Travis and I went to see Harry Potter in the theaters. It was really good, and left us wanting to see Part 2 really badly!! I have enjoyed watching all of the Harry Potter movies, but have never read the books. Travis on the other hand has read all of them, and has mentioned several times to me that I needed to read them. So once again as we left the theater he told me that I really needed to read the books, and this time I decided that I would!! I just finished the first book today, and will most likely start the second one tonight!! I will most likly have them finished by the New Year!! I have a tendancy to be a little bit of an adict when I get reading a good book(s)!!
