3 Years!

A little over a month ago my baby boy turned 3!!! Where did those three years go? It is crazy that he is already 3! We celebrated his birthday early as I mentioned before, so on his actual birthday we just had a really relaxing day! Mimi gave him a really cool bubble wand that makes huge bubbles, so after church we played with it for a long time! Luckily it was a beautiful day! Here are some pictures:

Just waking up, and already checking out his gift!

BIG Bubbles!

So cute!

Gorgeous Aunt CC!

Can you tell he had a fun day? Look at those dirty legs! My little orphan child!! He was trying to pop the bubbles by throwing the ball at them!!

After a few too many bubbles! ;)

Blowing out his candles!

Happy Birthday my sweet boy!!

Rolling Over!

Chloee rolled over from her back to her tummy for the first time on Saturday, May 1, at my friend Betsy's house. Woohoo. Four days later and she has got it down really good, and decided to try rolling from tummy to back. She only did it once, but it was still exciting!

I have lots more to blog about, since it's been a month since my last post. But it's getting late and I'm tired, so I'm going to go to bed, and I'll tell you more about Parker's B-day, surviving without Travis, projects, etc., later!

Easter!!

We had a nice relaxing Easter this year! I LOVE when Easter falls on Conference weekend!! We got up and let Parker look at what the Easter Bunny brought him, then we ate breakfast, and headed over to Mimi & Papa's house to watch Conference. It was great!! In between sessions we hid eggs all over the living room and dining room for Parker to find. We would have done it outside had it not snowed in the night...Yuck! He loved finding eggs. We also had a yummy lunch, and then watched the second session of Conference. We just relaxed the rest of the day, it was great!!

Chloee with her basket! Can you tell how excited she was!! NOT!!

The kids' baskets!

Parker checking out what the Easter Bunny brought him! He really was excited!!

Chuck E Cheese!!

We decided to have a little early birthday celebration for Parker this year so that Travis could be here. We went to Chuck E Cheese with my family on Saturday evening, which turned out to be a very crazy time to go! I don't know what we were thinking!! It was so crowded and loud, Chuck E Cheese was definitely more fun when I was a kid! But even with it being crowded, I think everyone had a good time. Here are some pictures:

Heidi, my mom (aka Mimi), Chloee, Jerome, my dad (aka Papa) and Ciara

I made Parker a race car cake! It turned out pretty cute, I'll put a better picture up when I figure out how to get it off my camera!!

We gave Parker his big gift before we went to Chuck E Cheese. It was a trike!! He loves it, but is still trying to figure out the pedaling thing!!

Mimi and Papa gave Parker a cute little Thomas train track.

Parker LOVED this bowling game! Unfortunately we didn't discover it until the end.

Family Pictures!

We finally got around to getting some good family pictures taken with Chloee! With Travis leaving, it kind of gave us a little push to get them done! We just went out by the Great Salt Lake and had my sister, Heidi, take them for us! I think we got some great shots!!

This is probably my favorite picture! I love the contrasting colors of the blue sky, white snow-topped mountains, and tan weeds!! We are getting a 16x20 print of this shot, I can't wait for it to get here and get it framed and put up on the wall!!

There is a cool old train car that's covered in grafiti that we decided to get some pictures in front of.

I love these grafiti shots!! Kind of funky!

National Guard Update

So Travis got sworn into the National Guard on Friday, so now is is officially in the military! It is still crazy and hard to believe for me! Anyways, so we found out that he will leave for Basic Training on April 5, and he will go to Fort Knox, Kentucky for that. Then he will go to Virginia for the other training. I forget what it is called, Fort Something!! So he leaves in two weeks, yikes that is quick! I am not ready for him to be gone for so long, but I think that it will be a good growing experience for me. I depend so much on Travis for every little thing, which isn't really a bad thing, but I think that I will grow a lot only being able to depend on the Lord and my family! Well that's the latest news, so keep us in your prayers, and I'll keep everyone updated!

Mid-Life Crisis??

Can a mid-life crisis occur before the age of 30?? And would deciding to join the military at age 28 be considered a mid-life crisis??

Well that is exactly what Travis has decided to do. A couple of weeks ago Travis called me from work and said that he is thinking about joining the National Guard! Just out of the blue! Normally I would definitely say that it is a mid-life crisis, but we have both prayed about it, and feel that it is right, so in this case I think it is more just a new direction! He wants to apply for the flight program after he joins so that he can fly the military helicopters. While there are lots of things that really scare me about him joining, I just have to have faith that it is what is meant to happen, because I have unmistakenly recieved that answer.

So he is officially signing up on Friday, so we will find out when and where he goes for Basic Training then. Basic Training is about 10 weeks long, then he will have additional training for 8 weeks. So he will be gone for about 4 1/2 months. :( That will be rough, but we will make it through! Once his initial training is finished he will just have drill one weekend a month and training for 2 weeks once a year. If he gets into the flight program, then he will have flight training for something like 40 weeks, but we get to go with him for that! So there are big changes happening, but they are pretty exciting!
